FAQ
Learn how it works, where it can be installed, and how it supports safer, more secure classrooms.
Which Classroom Doors And Frames Are Compatible?
FlipLok is designed for commercial classroom and institutional doors. Because door and frame configurations vary, our team can review your existing hardware to determine the appropriate installation for your school.
How Is FlipLok Engaged And Released?
FlipLok uses a simple one-motion locking mechanism. The device flips down, locks, and drops into place without additional steps. To release it, simply turn the door handle, allowing occupants to exit quickly.
How Does FlipLok Help During A Lockdown?
FlipLok adds another layer of physical security to the classroom door. Once engaged, it helps prevent unauthorized entry and allows occupants to secure the room quickly during a lockdown or active threat situation.
Can Occupants Still Exit Quickly In An Emergency?
Yes. FlipLok is designed with one-motion egress in mind. Turning the interior door handle releases the device, so occupants do not have to complete multiple steps to exit the classroom.
What Installation And Training Are Required?
FlipLok offers professional installation as well as resources for self-installation. An evergreen training video is available for staff, and on-site technician training can also be arranged.
